The longer days and return of the sun are so nice! The plants are growing much better with all the extra sun we have been getting. Lots of housekeeping and preparation for the future. We are getting ready for Seedy Saturday! The workshop lineup is looking fabulous with lots of good information to be shared. Also planning for the spring and putting together workshops for the school kids. The lettuce we had germinating failed, not sure why but I’ve got some collards sprouting now. They have a 7 day germination period and don’t need any extra heat to get started. Some of the seeds we have are old so it’s hit and miss with what comes up. It’s important to used seeds within a year or two so you have a better germinating potential. We also have a couple tomatoes and pepper plants that are almost ready to be transplanted.

Saturday, March 18, 2017,
This year marks the second annual hosting of Seedy Saturday for SEEDS.
We are so pleased to bring this event to Nelson once again at the Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce Visitors Info Centre at 91 Baker Street. This year we will start a little earlier 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Many vendors will be there once again and we are solidifying the workshop
line-up in the days ahead.
Check out the latest newsletter from our friends at Kootenay Food, loads of great information on local and regional initiatives.
There has been a SEEDS calendar
“fo paw” with regards to the dates printed for the Easter weekend. The Easter Bunny will be hopping down the path to your house on Sunday, April 16, 2017, not March 27th. So, you have another month to dust off your Easter bonnet. With sincere apologies from Hall Printing and SEEDS!
